Darlington Okoye a.k.a Speed Darlington has knocked the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) for declaring him wanted over an alleged rape of a 15-year-old girl.
Based on Instagram posts made by the controversial singer, NAPTIP had invited Speed Darlington to report to its headquarters in Abuja to explain himself, but he failed to do so over a period of one month.
On Friday NAPTIP in a statement said Speed Darlington is wanted for an alleged rape, cyberbullying, and cyberstalking.
The agency made the announcement on Friday via its official Instagram handle, @officialnaptip.
“WANTED BY NAPTIP. Darlington Okoye, aka Speed Darlington, is wanted in connection with alleged offences including rape, cyberbullying, and cyberstalking.
“Anyone with credible information on his whereabouts is urged to contact NAPTIP immediately. Call: 07030000203, info@naptip.gov.ng,” the statement read.
But speaking an interview on Saturday Speed Darlington said: “Thanks for the heads up, but I’m not worried. They have no right to declare me wanted. My lawyer has already sent it (the ‘wanted’ posted) to me. They just want to embarrass themselves. My lawyer will handle it.”
