Former Anambra State governor and Labour Party presidential candidate in 2023 election, Peter Obi said the coming of the African Democratic Congress offers Nigerians an escape route from insecurity and poverty.
The ADC, a coalition of opposition political heavyweights took the limelight of Nigerian political landscape Wednesday, giving the ruling All Progressive Congress cause for concern.
Obi said in a statement Thursday that ADC is committed to changing the sad Nigerian narratives in the up coming 2027 general election.
“Our commitment is to sacrifice and work together towards the 2027 General Elections, ensuring that Nigeria gets a competent, capable, and compassionate leadership that will prioritise the nation’s future by putting the welfare of Nigerians first,” said Mr Obi.
“No one group can change Nigeria alone. To dismantle the structures that keep our people in poverty and insecurity, we must build bridges, not walls, even when those bridges are uneasy.”
However Minister of the Federal Capital Territory and ally of President Bola Tinubu, Nyesom Wike dismissed the coalition say in saying it was a gathering of failed politicians.
Also Minister of Aviation Festus Keyamo and presidential adviser on information and strategy Bayo Onanuga have described the coalition as a group of disgruntled elements driven by hate for President Tinubu.
