Nigeria’s Super Falcons began the hunt for their 10th Women African Cup of Nations with a 3-0 win over Tunisia in their group B opening match at the Stade Larbi Zaouli, Casablanca, Morocco on Sunday.
The Super Falcons totally dominated the match and could have punished the hapless Tunisians with more goals but let them off the hook as they missing several scoring opportunities.
Asisat Oshoala head in the first goal in the 4th minute, while Rinsola Babajide added the second goal just before the referee whistled off the first half.
With an overall possession of 72 percent and 465 passes it was disappointing to see the Super Falcons take just nine shots at goal.
Coach Justin Madugu brought in Esther Okoronkwo in place of Oshoala to shake things in the second half and that did bring some spark which troubled deep defending Tunisia anxious moments.
Substitute Chiwendu Ihezuo in the 84th minute, rounded off the day for the Super Falcons when she swept home a loose ball inside the box.
