Joao Pedro made a dream start to his Chelsea career after scoring a brace that sent the Blues to the final of the FIFA Club World Cup.
After completing his move from Brighton to London, Pedro made his debut for Chelsea against his boyhood Brazilian club Fluminense in the semi-final on Tuesday night in New Jersey, USA. And he opened his goal scoring account with a delightful 20-yard strike before adding the second to put Chelsea in the final.
“I think it was a dream first start – I don’t think it could’ve been better,’ Joao Pedro said. ‘I’m very happy. I want to help the team.
“I think we have a great team, great players and it’s a pleasure to play with them. I think this season can be a great season for us.”
Pedro added that he has settled down well with team.
“I feel very comfortable, I think everyone has helped me a lot to feel at home, that’s my feeling. It feels like home already.
“I came a week ago and now I’m going to play in a final. I’m very happy for the team, and it’s a great outcome for me. It will be a very important and special game.”
