Four individuals involved in a Visa scam that grossed N500m for the are now guests of the Lagos State Police Command.
Those arrested by police for defrauding over 200 people include Blessing Wefsutu, 27; Chineye Christian, 36; Archibong Udeme Ifereke, 23; and Maurine Peter, 25 who ran an educational consultancy firm in the Ago Okota area of Lagos.
The suspects used the firm to deceive unsuspecting victims about Canadian and Australian work visas, but after collecting huge sums of money from the victims, they failed to deliver.
After a thorough investigation by the police the suspects were rounded up.
“Further investigations indicate that the syndicate includes additional accomplices who are currently at large.
“The command is intensifying efforts to apprehend the fleeing suspects and ensure that all those involved are brought to justice,” said the Lagos Police in a statement read.
