Nigeria’s Super Falcons put up a commanding display like never seen of them at the 2025 Women African Cup of Nations and dismantled the Copper Queens of Zambia with a 5-0 smashing in their quarter clash Friday.
Zambia and fans did much of the talking before the game played at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium Casablanca, Morocco, but just before the Copper Queens could settle in the game, reliable center back Ohale Osinachi headed home the first goal from a free kick delivered by Esther Okonkwo in the 6th minute.
In the 33rd minute Okonkwo returned to haunt the Zambians with a low shot to the bottom corner after controlling the ball with her chest.
Chinwendu Ihezuo pounced on a loose ball in the box to slot in a left-footed finish just before the break.
In the second half the shell shocked Copper Queen tried to find a way back, but Oluwatosin Demehin broke their spirits with nod from close range from another free kick in the 68th minute.
The fifth arrived in stoppage time, with substitute Folashade Ijamilusi applying the finishing touch following good work by Rasheedat Ajibade.
The Super Falcons who are yet to concede a goal in the tournament will now meet either South Africa or hosts Morocco in the semi-final.
