National Sports Commission chairman Shehu Dikko, said all outstanding of allowances owed the Super Falcons would be paid before the close of work on Friday.
According to Mr. Dikko this was to enable national women team to concentrate on the task of beating Morocco in Saturday’s final of the Women Africa Cup of Nations in Rabat, Morocco.
The NSC boss who was speaking against the background of reports the team was still being owed money from previous games disclosed on Channels TV that President Bola Tinubu has personally approved funds for the payment of the Super Falcons and the Nigeria Football Federation has been told to pay up.
“The instruction is that the NFF should try everything possible to make sure the girls receive their money at the latest by close of business today.
“At least, the females are getting the decent bonuses they deserve.
“The focus is to get the cup tomorrow,” Dikko stated
He noted that the delay in payment was due to government bottle necks in approval and release of money.
“People need to understand that this money is never delayed deliberately. It is because of the processes for the government.”
