Former Niger State governor Muazu Babangida Aliyu has urged Nigerians to allow President Bola Tinubu to have four more years of leadership.
Mr Aliyu who is the Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation Board of Trustees chairman argued during a chat on Arise TV that if Nigerian can cope with late President Muhammadu Buhari ‘s eight years of hardship, they can also endure that of Tinubu.
“If we could tolerate the late Muhammad Buhari for eight years, oh my God, let’s try it maybe by 2031, we can jettison the arrangement if we find it convenient,” he said.
“You see, my argument had always been, what is the alternative? What is it if you want to remove this or that government or that governor or that president? What is the alternative that you’re offering to the people?” he stated.
Presidential adviser on information and strategy Bayo Onanuga had earlier made similar remarks saying: “This president is a Nigerian. He deserves the same two terms that Buhari had. Let’s not sacrifice the country for personal ambition.”
