Paris Saint-Germain and Moroccan defender Achraf Hakimi is facing rape charges after a girl he met on Instagram accused him of sexual assault
According to reports by Le Parisien, the office of the prosecutor in Nanterre has filed a final indictment request on August 1, calling for Hakimi to be formally charged before the criminal court of Hauts-de-Seine. The allegations relate to an incident at his home in Boulogne-Billancourt near Paris in February 2023, which Hakimi denies.
According to Le Parisien, the 26-year-old alleged victim met Hakimi via Instagram and visited his residence after over a month of online contact. She claims Hakimi kissed and touched her without consent, then forced himself on her. The woman reported the incident to the police the same day but initially did not file a formal complaint. She later provided messages to investigators describing her trauma.
Hakimi was placed under formal investigation for alleged rape on March 3, 2023, following questioning and brief custody. Throughout the inquiry, he has denied the allegations, asserting the claims are part of an attempted financial blackmail.
PSG has maintained support for Hakimi, expressing trust in the judicial process. The club said his absences from training were due to “personal reasons.”
