The Super Eagles B team suffered a 1-0 pipping in the hands of defending champions, Senegal in their opening game of the African Nations Championship in Zanzibar, Tanzania.
The Super Eagles dominated the game, but failed to punish the Senegalese who took advantage of their only shot at goal with 15 minutes left to nail the Super Eagles to the bottom of group D.
Congo and Sudan, in the other group game played out a 1-1 draw.
The team coached by Eric Chelle must will now be hoping for a comeback win against Sudan, also at the Amaan Stadium, on Tuesday next week.
Chelle is optimistic of winning the next game saying his squad will “take each game as it comes.”
