Davido and late son Ifeanyi

Afrobeats star, David Adeleke, a.k.a Davido, said the death of his three-year-old son Ifeanyi, in 2022 in a swimming pool drowning incident was a turning point in his life and career.
In an interview with ABC News’ Rocsi Diaz which started trending on Wednesday, Davido said he was proud of how he and his wife, Chioma, handled the tragedy and found the strength to move forward.
According to him, the painful experience reshaped his outlook on life and refocused his priorities.
“Stepping away after losing my son and being able to look back on my career gave me a refocus on how I wanted to move forward. It changed my life,” Davido said
“I know how many people randomly like in the airports will come to me like, ‘bro, you don’t know how your strength has gotten me through life.’ You know what I’m saying? But I’m just, me and my wife were talking the other day, I was like, I’m proud of us, man, you know what I’m saying? Like now we got twins, you know, they’re big, shouting everywhere, but like, you know what I’m saying? But for us to, you know, go through that and be able to bounce back in a major way is huge” Davido said.
