Air Ibom passenger Comfort Emmanson has been discharge by an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court, after the police dropped charges of unruly behaviour and assault against her on Wednesday.
Emmanson was remanded by the Court at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre on August 11 after she allegedly assaulted crew members of Ibom Air on flight from Uyo to Lagos. She was dragged from the plane with her breasts exposed and immediately was dragged to Court.
At the hearing police prosecutor, Inspector Oluwabunmi Adeitan, informed the court of a new development warranting the case withdrawal and submitted an application which the court accepted.
Speaking after regaining her freedom on her Instagram social media page Emmanson said: “Thank you so much for the prayers, love and support. I’ve been released from the prison, but I’m still in pains due to how I was treated.
“I just need some rest and medical treatment before I give out my own version of the event. Thank you so much, my lovely friends and supporters. I really appreciate y’all from the bottom of my heart. God bless you all. Thank you, my great God!!!”
Her case sparked an outrage after she bundled into prison, some Nigerians wondered why Fuji musician Wasiu Ayinde Mashall a.k.a Kwam 1 was not imprisoned since he committed a similar offence when he attempted to stop a ValueJet Aircraft that was about to take off.
