Rangers are hopeful striker Cyriel Dessers will make a quick recovery after he picked up a knee injury in their second leg Champions League qualifying round clash against Viktoria Plzen Pilsen, Czech Republic.
Rangers lost 2-1, but are through to the second round on 3-2 aggregate, but there are worries about Dessers’ injury. He is a major doubt for the Champions League play-off first leg against Club Brugge at Ibrox next Tuesday.
“Yeah, it looks like a nasty one, so he’s in a brace now. We’ll have to just wait and see over the next couple of days, have a scan and see,” coach Russell Martin said.
“We’ll keep our fingers crossed it’s not too bad for the big man.”
His injury should also be of concern to Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle as he prepares for next months World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and South Africa.
