Portuguese football legend Cristiano Ronaldo and his long time partner Georgina Rodríguez are set to tie the nuptial knots, but it is their engagement ring that has continue to dominate discussions.
Ronaldo handed Georgina a diamond ring valued by jewelers to be in the region of US$13 million, a museum-worthy piece already being compared to Elizabeth Taylor’s iconic jewel. The Argentine-Spanish model shared on social media a photo of their intertwined hands, where a dazzling engagement ring stole the spotlight.
The piece is so large that it nearly covers the entire proximal phalanx of Georgina’s ring finger. It features a massive oval-shaped diamond set on a silver-toned base—possibly white gold—surrounded by smaller diamonds to enhance its brilliance. Although the brand has not been confirmed, speculation points to Cartier, a jeweler Georgina has worn on several occasions.
According to jewelry expert Iñaki Torres, the ring is valued between US$10.9 million and US$13 million. Some specialists estimate that, if it is indeed from Cartier, its minimum value would be around US$5.4 million.
The model is believed to be the classic Cartier 1895, with a central diamond of at least 40 carats—drawing comparisons to the famous ring Richard Burton gave Elizabeth Taylor.
The record-breaking price places her ring above those worn by Beyoncé and Jennifer Lopez, each valued at around $5 million.
