Reality TV star Josephina Otabor a.k.a Phyna, is fuming after a truck belonging to the Dangote Group got her sister injured in an accident and later staff of the company posted her recovery process online.
Phyna’s sister Ruth Otabor escaped death on August 13, 2025, when the truck lost control and almost crushed her in Auchi, Edo State, but she lost a leg, and the other is in danger of also being amputated.
Though the Dangote Group has accepted responsibility for the incident and are paying the medical bills Ruth will incur at the Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital, Phyna is raving claiming that Dangote staff visited Ruth at and took photos without permission, later posting them online.
“Who gave you permission to snap any member of my family and posted it online? What disrespect. You send staff members to the hospital today and decide to turn it to content? I just pray this kind of picture didn’t happen with my sister… and moving forward with what is at hand on no account should there be a discussion, meetings and whatever the future holds and there is a camera in sight. Plus, what do you mean by Mrs Ruth Otabor, what narrative are you about to start… Una Dey play with me?
” Appropriate compensation!!! Quick recovery from an already amputated leg? What necessary speed are you taking right now? Let’s not forget the Bike Man who is also in a very critical condition,” she wrote.
Dangote Group had expressed its commitment to Ruth’s recovery and support for her family during this challenging time.
The statement reads: ““Following the recent road accident in Auchi, Edo State, involving one of our trucks, which sadly resulted in injury to Mrs. Ruth Otabor, senior officials from Dangote Cement Plc, together with our insurance team, promptly visited the scene, engaged with law enforcement authorities, and visited the victim and her family at Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital, Edo State.
“This action reflects our unwavering commitment to the well-being of those affected. We are ensuring full support for Mrs. Otabor, including comprehensive medical care and appropriate compensation, in line with Dangote Group’s welfare policy.
“Our thoughts remain with Mrs. Ruth Otabor and her loved ones, and we wish her a full and speedy recovery.”
