A man simply identified as Ifeanyi has been arrested by the police in Enerhen in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State for allegedly murdering his own father.
According to reports Ifeanyi sneaked into his father’s bedroom at their Oilfield Road residence last week Thursday night while he was sleeping and inflicted machete cuts on him and stole money from the proceed of a land his father had sold. He later died from his injuries in the hospital, before giving up the ghost he told neighbours it was Ifeanyi who attacked him.
The neighbours launched a search for the suspect, and he was caught in a hotel with two girls he lodged with, after organizing a birthday party for another, whom he said is his girlfriend.
The police have deposited the remains of the deceased in the morgue. According to police the suspect who is being detained confessed to killing his dad, saying he was given a mandate by his cult group to murder him.
