The police in Ukraine are investigating the death of a 32-years-old crypto influencer, Konstantin Galich also known as Kostya Kudo who was found dead with a gunshot wound to his head in his Lamborghini Urus October 11.
According to the police Kostya Kudo had told family members before his death he was feeling distressed by the crash of the crypto market last week after US President Donald Trump announced a 100 percent tariff imposition on trade with China. This resulted to a sharp global crypto sell-off that erased more than $19 billion in leveraged positions within hours. Kostya Kudo was reported to have lost $30m of investors’ money to the crash.
Cryptocurrency prices had previously soared under Trump’s presidency, as he embraced crypto investors, launched his own meme coin and promised to create a strategic cryptocurrency reserve for the U.S.
“The man told relatives that he was feeling depressed due to financial difficulties and also sent them a farewell message,” the Kyiv police department stated via its Telegram channel.
Police confirmed Galich had suffered a gunshot wound to the head and noted that a firearm registered in his name was recovered at the scene. The investigation remains open, with authorities exploring both suicide and possible foul play.
