The police in Ondo State Nigeria, have arrested a 49-year-old man identified as Azeez Lamide, for allegedly defiling his 14-year-old daughter.
Lamide according to the victim had repeatedly committed the act in their Ogbagi-Akoko, Ondo north senatorial district, and in the process, she got pregnant and was given drugs by the father to abort the pregnancy.
The bubble burst on the accused when the victim started having complications and was bleeding Virgina and then was rushed to the hospital. It was there she revealed to medical staff what had happened.
Ondo State police spokesperson, Olayinka Ayanlade who confirmed the development said: “She was immediately rushed to the nearest hospital in Ogbagi-Akoko, where medical personnel confirmed that she had recently undergone a drug-induced abortion.
“Upon interrogation, the victim revealed that the suspect had been sexually abusing her repeatedly.
“The victim has since been referred to the State Specialist Hospital for comprehensive medical care, while the suspect remains in police custody pending further investigation.
“Commissioner of Police, Ondo State Command, CP Adebowale Lawal, psc, mnips, has since directed that the case be transferred to the Command’s Gender Unit for discreet and thorough investigation.”
