Egyptian national team the Pharaohs have set up a friendly match against Nigeria’s Super Eagles on December 14 at the Cairo Stadium in Egypt.
According to Egypt coach Hossam Hassan, the match is meant to test his team with a strong African opponent ahead of the African Cup of Nations billed for December 21 to January 18 in
Morocco.
Before the match against the Super Eagles, the Pharaohs will compete in a four nation UAE Tournament, where they will meet Uzbekistan on 14 November. Cape Verde and Iran, who will play a day earlier.
The winners of both matches will face each other in the final on November 18.
Egypt are in Group B of the AFCON contest, alongside South Africa, Angola and Zimbabwe.
Coach Hassan has confirmed that games are part of Egypt’s preparations for both the 2026 FIFA World Cup & the 2025 AFCON.
