Afrobeats’ newest sensation, Jibril Africana has up his game with the recent release of his new single “Ghetto.”
“Ghetto,” a dedication to kids growing up on their own and determined to push through in life is a smooth running track spiced up with the energetic vocal style of Africana.
The video is currently streaming on YouTube, much to the delight of Africana who is working really hard to carve a niche for himself in the Nigerian and global music scene.
“What I can say is that Ghetto was inspired by my environment the reality, the struggle, and the things happening around me every day,” said Africana.
“Many kids especially in the ghetto grow up with little or no parental care, yet they keep pushing, dreaming, and fighting for a better life.
“The song is a reflection of that resilience and truth it’s deeply rooted in my environment and the experiences that shaped me.”
Africana earlier in the year released his first single “Fuji Sound” followed by “Omo Pastor,” songs that have received positive feedbacks.
“The response to “Fuji Sound,” has been incredible. People have really connected with the blend of Fuji elements, storytelling, and modern sound.
“I’ve been receiving a lot of positive feedback from listeners in different places many are calling it refreshing and unique.
“And on a lighter note, I even got “attacked” by my ex-lover’s mother who insisted on the song “Omo Pastor” was about her and her daughter…no worries I didn’t fight back. Music is already my weapon.”
Africana added that the response to his music so far is like a tonic, which is challenging his creative mind to break boundaries with his blend of Afrobeats and folklore music.
“Overall, it’s been beautiful to see the music travel, touch people emotionally, and spark conversations about culture, identity, and sound. This project has opened more doors, more ears, and even more motivation for me to keep pushing and evolving.”
