A soldier who assaulted a pharmacist and customer has been detained by the Ghana Armed Forces military police.
The soldier identified as Warrant Officer Class One (WO1) Mensah Williams, was seen in a viral video unleashing slaps and punches on the pharmacist and the customer who happened to be a General’s daughter.
Trouble started when WO1 Williams sent his son to buy a dewormer and when he got to the of e-PRIDE pharmacy located at Burma Camp in Accra, the boy was given three options of warm expeller. He settled for the one that costs GHC65 (about N9,000).
The boy’s father was furious, and he went to the pharmacy to demand for a refund, but he was told that there is no refund for drugs that have been sold. He went berserk and attacked the pharmacist behind the counter and the daughter of the two-star General who was filming the chaos.
A press statement released by the Ghana Armed Forces Thursday, said the incident is being investigated and the officer would be held accountable for his action, if found wanting.
