Members of the Super Eagles Supporters Club lead by Vincent Okumagba will leave for Rabat, Morocco Thursday morning to cheer the national team to victory in their World Cup qualifier playoffs.
The Super Eagles’ build up to the CAF four nations contest for the sole ticket to an intercontinental playoff in March, has been marred by protest over unpaid bonuses.
But the players seem to have readjusted after intervention by the National Sports Commission and barring any unforeseen circumstances they would be ready to face Gabon in the opening match on Thursday.
“The distractions are uncalled for, the clamour for unpaid bonuses is coming at the wrong time and wrong place,” said Prince Okumagba.
“But I’m glad things have been sorted out, and the team will go out there and winning it for the sake of Nigerian fans.
“Again, I think it is all about mind games meant to fool their opponents, the Super Eagles are disarray, however, the players must go out there and win.”
He said his members have been mobilised and would do their bit to cheer up the team.
“We are following the first flight to Rabat Thursday morning and would be heading for the Stadium straight.”
