A Nigerian man identified as Chukwuebuka Eweni, 27, has fatally stabbed his father Samuel Eweni who is a professor of computer studies and development.
Chukwuebuka also left his two sisters fighting for their lives after killing their dad.
The domestic violence incident happened on November 21, 2025 in their Pebble Street residence in New Orleans, USA.
The police were alerted to the violence at about 9.58pm and they found the lifeless body of Samuel Eweni and his two adult daughters bleeding and needing medical help.
“Chukwuebuka Eweni was located and arrested in Jefferson Parish.
“He is currently in law enforcement custody while undergoing medical evaluation at an area facility,” the police said in a statement.
According to a family source Chukwuebuka who has a history of mental illness shocked the community since he had never been violent to the extent of killing his own father.
According to local reports, one of the injured sisters has been discharged from the hospital, while the other is still receiving treatment but is expected
to recover.
Chukwuebuka could be facing one count of second-degree murder and two counts of attempted second-degree murder, if he is determined to be of sound mind at the time of the murder.
The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office is expected to confirm the identity of the deceased and the official cause of death after an autopsy and next-of-kin notification.
