Nigerian Grammy-winning singer, Burna Boy, has stirred reactions among fans after hinting that he is dealing with personal struggles away from the public eye.
The superstar made the revelation in a brief, but emotional message shared on his social media platforms on Thursday.
Although Burna Boy did not disclose the nature of the “secret battles,” he suggested that fame often hides the unseen challenges celebrities endure.
“I’ve noticed that people never highlight the good things I do in this world, but the moment they think I’ve messed up, it goes viral everywhere,” Burna Boy wrote on his social media platform.
”By the way — I was joking around with my band about something completely different, not this situation. As usual, it’s been twisted into ‘Burna Boy doesn’t love his fans.’
”I’m fighting my own battles. I don’t come here looking for pity or help from anyone.
”I love those who love me, and I respect those who respect me.
If I’m wrong about this, I sincerely apologise. I’m not always right — but in this case, I feel I am. At the end of the day, I’m just human.”
