Former Chelsea player Noni Madueke revealed that he is itching to play against Chelsea on Sunday after scoring for Arsenal in their 3-1 Champions League win against Bayern Munich Wednesday night.
Madueke joined the Gunners from Chelsea in the summer, but after eight games he was sidelined by a knee injury. Against Bayern he proved that he is back and hoping to help Arsenal to end their Premier League and Champions League trophy drought.
Speaking on the clash against Chelsea he said: “Yeah, for sure. You go eight weeks without the thing you love the most in the world, so you are chomping at the bit to just be on the pitch as much as possible. I can’t wait!”
He added, “First vs. second, they’ve got a top team, we’re a top team so it’s going to be a good game.”
Madueke’s goal against Bayern was his first goal and according to him, it was a rewarding night.
“I had a long injury, it was difficult, but today I made up for it. It’s amazing. I can’t really say much more man, just amazing.”
“The level we’re playing at right now is incredible and we need to try and keep adapting, keep pushing it, keep pushing boundaries and that’s the only way we can stay there.”
