Chelsea coach Enzo Maresca said he and the team are happy to have playmaker Cole Palmer fit again ready to play against Arsenal in Sunday’s London derby.
Palmer missed the games against Burnley and Barcelona after he fractured his toe in a freak accident. The England international has struggled with injury this season and featured only five times across all competitions
“He is available to start,” said Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca.
“Everyone is happy, the team-mates are happy, we are all happy and the most important thing is Cole is happy because a footballer wants to play games and make the sessions every day.
“He is our best player; we are happy he is back. We need to give him time to be 100% fit. He has done fantastic in the past and no doubt he is going to do very good for this club in the future.”
Chelsea is hoping to beat high flying Arsenal at Stamford Bridge and close the gap on the league table where the Gunners with 29 points are six points clear of Chelsea.
“I said after [Barcelona] it’s another big game on Sunday,” Maresca added.
“We finish one against Barcelona, as you say we won and it was a good feeling. Now we have another one.
“For me, they are all important games. For sure, beating Barcelona is good and if we are able to beat Arsenal, it’s a nice feeling. But in the end, it’s three points and then on Wednesday we have Leeds which is another three points. We will try our best to beat Arsenal and then we will see.”
