At Craven Cottage Fulham were left for dead after trailing Manchester City 5-1.
But Samuel Chukwueze and Alex Iwobi put up an incredible show which fell short of lifting their club from the jaws of defeat in a game that will go down perhaps as the match of the year in the Premier League.
Though they lost 5-4 to City, Fulham fans gave their team a standing ovation at the blast of the final whistle.
Erling Haaland opened scoring to net his 100th goal in 111 Premier League games.
Haaland, made an assist for Tijjani Reijnders who chipped over the onrushing Fulham keeper Bernd Leno. Phil Foden made it three and Edwin Smith Rowe pulled one back for Fulham just before the break.

and Jeremy Foden Doku’s shot forced an own goal off Sander Berge.
But that was when Fulham took over. Iwobi pulled one back with a curled low shot into the bottom from the edge of the box.
In the 72nd minute Chukwueze who started from the bench, made an instant impact when he volleyed into the top corner for his first Fulham goal. He followed up six minutes later with another strike after Donnarumma was left stranded.
Fulham pushed for an equaliser, but Josh King saw a late chance cleared off the line as they were ultimately unable to find a goal that would have capped off one of the most incredible comebacks in PL history.
“It was a crazy game. I like the spirit of the team, almost coming back,” said Chukwueze.
“It’s a Difficult one to take but we keep our heads up. I believed, we believed we could score the next goals. But we have to move on from it.
“We didn’t come away with the three points but we keep working and we’ll give everything to get the next three points.”
