Reliable full back Ola Aina is doubtful for the Africa Cup of Nations starting December 21 in Morocco.
Though he made the 55-man provisional squad released by coach Eric Chelle on Tuesday, Ola Aina is still recovering from the hamstring injury he picked in September, during the Nigeria v South Africa World Cup qualifiers.
Nottingham Forest coach Sean Dyche disclosed that Ola Aina would be out till January
“Ola is getting closer to fitness but obviously can’t be with us until January,” Dyche told the Nottingham Post.
His condition, however, would be determined by the Super Eagles team doctors before the AFCON final list of 28 is released.
Meanwhile Ola Aina himself is hopeful of making a comeback at the AFCON after signing an endorsement deal with Sokito. Ola Aina has a specially made for him boot dubbed “Mr. Lulu,” which he is yearning to wear at the AFCON.
The boots drop in a light green design inspired by his passion for Nigerian culture while paying tribute to iconic Super Eagles kits of the past.
