Russian President Vladimir Putin before meeting with American peace negotiators warned that his army would be ready to take on Europe any time they want to fight.
The EU encouraged Ukraine to reject a peace plan that would see it concede the Donbas region to Russian. Putin speaking in Moscow Tuesday said the Europeans do not have a peaceful agenda and are on the side of war and seeks demands from the war in Ukraine that are not acceptable to Russia.
“We’re not planning to go to war with Europe, I’ve said that a hundred times,” he says.
“But if Europe suddenly wants to fight us and starts, we’re ready right now. There can be no doubt about that.”
“If Europe suddenly wants to start a war with us and does, then a situation could very quickly arise in which we have no one to negotiate with,” he adds.
Meanwhile Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in Dublin Ireland that a 20-point roadmap to peace have been worked out.
“Some things still need to be worked out,” he said.
The president added that this marked “one of the most challenging and yet optimistic moments at the same time” for peace in Ukraine.
“Now more than ever, there is a chance to end this war”, Zelenskyy said.
