Representative Riley M. Moore a member of the US Congress delegation to Nigeria has predicted the end of terror attacks only if the government of President Bola Tinubu follows through on points raised during discussions.
Mr. Moore his visiting colleagues have had meeting with the National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu in the on-going consultations between Nigeria and the US on how to stop the terror gangs kidnapping and killing in communities in the north and central part of the country.
He said during the talks in Washinton DC and in Abuja last week, discussions that will significantly boost national security, disrupt supply and destroy terror gangs in the country. He added that religiously motivated killings had attracted the attention of the President of the United States and remained a personal concern.
“There were concrete steps and actions discussed at length, that if fully executed, I believe will enhance security across the country for all Nigerians, disrupt and destroy terrorist organisations in the northeast and stop the killing of Christians (a specific concern for @POTUS and me) – particularly in the Middle Belt of the country.”
He also referred to the rescue of 100 abducted Catholic schoolchildren, thanking the Nigerian government and President Bola Tinubu.
“I want to thank the Nigerian government and @officialABAT for rescuing the 100 innocent and precious Catholic school children.
“This is a positive demonstration of the government’s increasing response to the security situation and shows commitment to the emergency declaration laid out by President Tinubu.”
