Three weeks after suffering a bad fall at the 2025 Miss Universe contest in Thailand, Miss Jamaica Gabrielle Henry, is yet to fully recover.
Miss Henry fell through an opening on the stage during the preliminary evening gown segment on Nov. 19. Though organisers tried to downplay the extent of her injuries after the incident, it has now been confirmed that Henry suffered “intracranial hemorrhage with loss of consciousness – also known as a brain bleed – a fracture, facial lacerations and ‘other significant injuries,” a spokesman for the contest said.
Since the incident, the organization has covered all hospital, medical, and rehabilitation expenses, as well as her mother and sister’s accommodation and living costs in Thailand, it stated. The MUO also confirmed it is funding the medically escorted repatriation flight and will cover all future medical expenses related to the fall.
“The Henry family is deeply grateful to the Miss Universe Organization for their unwavering compassion, presence, and love shown,” the statement read.
The Miss Universe 2025 final took place on Nov. 21, with the crown going to Mexico’s Fatima Bosch. Representatives from Thailand, Venezuela, the Philippines, and Ivory Coast filled the first, second, third, and fourth runner-up positions respectively.
