An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) suspected to have been planted by terror gangs have exploded and killed an unspecified number of road users along the Yar’Tasha–Dansadau way in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The incident occurred Saturday afternoon as unsuspecting travelers went about their journey, a video of the blast circulating online show a lot of panicked people running in all directions.
“I can confirm that there was a blast in that area, but I can’t tell you details yet. I will update you later,” Zamfara police command spokesperson, Yazid Abubakar told the Daily Post.
This is the second time an IED will explode in Zamfara this December. There was a blast around the Gurusu-Gwashi road in the Bukkuyum Local Government Area, which injured several people going about their businesses.
According to reports the attacks is suspected to have been coordinated by a bandit kingpin identified as Sadiku, who is believed to be working with the Dogo Gide faction.
