Former world heavyweight boxing champion, Anthony Joshua was Monday afternoon plucked from the wreckage of a car crash that claimed the lives of two his co-travellers.
The accident occurred at about 1.30pm along the the Lagos-Ibadan expressway Sagamu intersection in Ogun State, Nigeria. Joshua’s Lexus SUV marked KRD 850 HN, collided with a stationary truck leaving two of his associates dead on scene.
Video of the scene circulating online had sympathisers milling around the wreck and urging responders to take Joshua to hospital after he was pulled out of the wreck.
Police have confirmed that Joshua has been taken to hospital and they are investigating the cause of the accident.
The British-Nigerian boxer is known to frequent Lagos and Ogun State where he hails from.
