Embattled founder of the Mountain of Liberation and Miracles Ministries, Pastor Chris Okafor, has failed to honour police invitation to report after multiple women including his ex-wife Bessem opened up on allegations of sexual misconduct against him.
The Police on Sunday night urged Pastor Okafor to report at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) PANTI, Lagos, by 10.00am on Monday, but by the close of work he was yet to show up for questioning.
Pastor Okafor’s escapades began to unfold when Nollywood actress Doris Ogala accused him of using and dumping her for another woman.
As it turned out other women also came forward to reveal their own experiences including a choir member who confessed that Pastor Okafor forced to commit several abortions and couldn’t have the conscience to commit the fifth hence, she decided to keep the child.
“The pastor is yet to come as at 4pm. I don’t know if he will still come or not,” a police source said.
In the heat of the allegations Pastor Okafor apologised to his congregation, stepped down from ministerial work and reached out to Doris Ogala to calm down issue. But Doris Ogala wailed the more.
Lagos State Police spokesperson Abimbola Adebisi, in a statement posted on the Command’s official X page on Sunday night said the police will conduct a full-scale investigation and has urged all those with information to come forward.
“Any person or persons who have credible information or evidence relevant to the investigation are also encouraged to come forward without fear or apprehension to assist the Police in the investigation of the cases against him. Such persons may wish to get across to the SCID through the Police Public Relations Department at the Lagos State Police Command, or can go directly to the SCID,” said Ms Adebisi.
