Labour Party bigwig and vice-presidential candidate in the 2023 election, Datti Baba-Ahmed, has urged former Vice President and 2027 presidential aspirant, Atiku Abubakar to quit the scene.
Mr. Baba-Ahmed stated that Atiku has been around the political scene angling to become Nigerian President, since he Baba-Ahmed finished his university and served as a member of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC.
Atiku who contested the 2023 president election under the banner of the People’s Democratic Party, is hoping to win the mandate of the African Democratic Congress and have another go at the presidential contest in 2027.
“When I was doing my NYSC, Baba Atiku was an aspirant and in 2018, we contested primaries together. In 2023 we contested again, I as a vice president elsewhere when his vice president had left him. For God’s sake in 2027 again?”
“There is the need for a new generation of Nigerian leaders and they do exist. As I said, a whole new generation is waiting for a new leader to lead them to a new party. The there are good Nigerians.
“There are people capable of solving Nigerian problems, but they are discouraged by the expensive, difficult, treacherous system full of godfathers and bad promises to make. But there are good Nigerians who are looking for that leader to need them to fix Nigeria, Nigeria’s problems,” said Baba-Ahmed while speaking in an interview on Channels Television.
