Chimamanda Adichie...sad times.

Following complaints of negligence which led to the death of her 21-month-old son by famous writer Chimamanda Adichie, the Lagos State government has commenced investigations to unravel the circumstances surrounding the passing of the child.
Adichie was on holiday in Lagos during the Christmas period when her son suddenly fell ill, according to her the boy a twin was treated at the Atlantis hospital in Lagos. She accused the private hospital of being “criminally negligent, fatally casual, and careless with the precious life of a child.”
Adichie said her son was taken to Euracare Hospital for an MRI scan and the insertion of a central line, during which he was sedated but was not properly monitored after being administered propofol, leading to complications including loss of responsiveness, seizures, and cardiac arrest.
Dr. Kemi Ogunyemi, who is the special adviser to Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu said in a state that the government has directed a probe into the death of the twin toddler.
“On behalf of the Government and people of Lagos State, we commiserate sincerely with Ms. Chimamanda Adichie and her family over this painful and irreparable loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this extremely difficult time,” the statement read.
“The Governor has directed HEFAMAA to immediately commence a thorough, independent, and transparent investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident, with a view to unraveling the immediate and remote causes of the death.”
