Former Super Eagles striker Yakubu Aiyegbeni admitted that Nigeria face a daunting task against the Atlas Lions of Morocco in their African Cup of Nations semi-final clash but believes the Victor Oshimhen lead team can win.
The Atlas Lions will be playing Nigeria at the Prince Moulay Abdallah Stadium in Rabat on Wednesday, a venue where the Moroccan team enjoy massive support from their home fans. Though they have not be so fantastic in their displays so far, but they have won all their matches in regular time.
Yakubu who scored 21 goals from 58 appearances for the Super Eagles said during a chat on Sky sport: “It’s not going to be an easy semi-final game facing the home crowd, but so far the Super Eagles have been the best team in the tournament.
“They got players like Calvin Bassey, Alex Iwobi and off course one of the best strikers in the world Victor Osimhen, they can get the job done.”
Aiyegbeni...grand optimism.
