Osimhen ready to join United this January, Rio Ferdinand fired up with optimism

Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand said he is 100 percent sure top striker Victor Osimhen will be at Old Traford, playing his football this January.
Ferdinand a former defensive stalwart at the club has for long clamoured for United to sign Osimhen who was available in the summer transfer window, but United and host of other clubs looked away from the Super Eagles striker who is enjoying a good form at Galatasaray.
Speaking with Ghana’s Asamoah Gyan in his Podcast “Rio Ferdinand Presents,” the former England international said that should United ready with the money to sign, Osimhen will move to Old Trafford.
Ferdinand said: “Osimhen will come to United, if United offer to take Osimhen, he would go, 100%.”
Gyan also concurred: “Osimhen, he loves scoring goals, he plays with his heart and gives everything.
“That is the type of striker we need right now, we have [Bryan] Mbeumo on the side doing what he needs to do.”
Galatasaray signed Osimhen from Napoli in the summer when no other club from Europe wanted to deal. According to reporters though Galatasaray are reluctant to let their hit man go, they would be ready to trade if any interested club can table $140m.
Osimhen has scored 49 goals in 57 appearances for Galatasaray since joining on loan in 2024 and then on permanent deal in 2025.
