The founder of Rollo Life of Christ Brethren Ministry, Bishop Gideon Osagie Osazee, has been arrested by the Edo State government for allegedly having sexual relations with six teenagers in his Church.
According to Eugene Abdullah who is the Edo Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development the victims include two biological sisters aged 17 and 13. The girls claimed that Bishop Osagie Osazee had been having sexual intercourse with them.
He was arrested after government officials put him under surveillance for several days. It was confirmed that Bishop Osazee was sleeping with the teenagers by persuasion and coercion.
Confronted over the allegations Bishop Osazee claimed he was in a relationship with one of the two biological sisters whom he claimed was 21 and not 17. In her testimony the eldest of the sisters alleged that Bishop Osazee assaulted her while she was asleep and coerced her into taking an oath not to reveal the abuse, threatening harm if she spoke out.
Faith Edebor of the Vivian Sexual Assault Referral Centre said preliminary investigations support the victims’ claims.
The case has been handed over to the Criminal Investigation Department of the Edo State Police Command for prosecution.
