A Baptist Church cleric, Pastor Daniel Bagama, and his three daughters are now at the mercy of bandits who abducted them at Tudun Bussa village in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Pastor Bagama and his daughters were taken on January 18 during a night raid on the community by the bandits. According to reports by Daily Post, the gunmen shot sporadically scaring off community members, before heading to the house of the Pastor to seize him and his daughters.
The capture of the family members was disclosed by the Kaduna Baptist Conference, president Rev. Ishaya Adamu Jangado in a letter copied to the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), saying, “I write to inform you that bandits have abducted a Baptist Church Pastor, Pastor Daniel Bagama and his three daughters at Tudun Bussa village, Chikun local government area of Kaduna state.”
As at the time of this report, there has been no official statement from the security agencies on the incident or any ransom demand by the bandits.
When contacted, the Kaduna State Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Rev. Caleb Ma’aji Bawa, confirmed the abduction of the pastor and his three daughters.
Efforts to contact the state police spokesperson, Mansir Hassan, for comments proved abortive as his phone could not be reached.
