New Nigeria Peoples Party leader Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso said he still can’t get over the decision of Kano State governor Abba Kabir Yusuf to leave the NNPP and join the All-Progressives Congress.
Senator Kwankwaso said the decision by Governor Yusuf to abandon the NNPP came as a shock, leaving many, including himself, struggling to process the move.
Speaking during a BBC interview Kwankwason said: “When I lie down, I reflect and ask myself: what really happened? Who was at fault? Was it me? Was it the party? Were party members at fault? But I have not been able to find an answer.”
He said with Yusuf teaming up with former governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje it would be hard for him to make political impact in Kano.
“The moment Ganduje raised his hand, the election was already lost.
“If Ganduje truly had the power to raise someone’s hand to victory, he would have done so in 2019. If he had that power, he would have done so in 2023.”
Meanwhile Salisu Yahaya Hotoro an aide to Governor Yusuf writing on his Facebook social media platform said the citizens of Kano will soon know who has their best interest at heart.
“Since they cannot come out to tell the world what they did, we will tell the world, so that the people can judge between us and them.”
