Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone said he has been impressed with Ademola Lookman’s agility and eagerness to be part of the team.
Lookman arrived in Madrid on January deadline day and so far, has settled down in the Spanish capital and ready to play.
“He joined the group very quickly, and you could immediately notice his physical strength, his speed, his ability to change the play, and his power in the final third,” Simeone said.
“We hope he can help us in the way he believes he can, and in the way we expect.
“And obviously, that important partnerships are formed for the good of the team, because that’s what it’s about: bringing good players together.”
Lookman said during presentation Tuesday said he was looking forward to working with Simeone who has spent 15 years with Atletico Madrid where he also played his football between 2003 and 2005.
“I met with him and we had a good conversation. It’s fantastic to be able to talk to the person you’re going to work with every day. So, very good,” he said.
“My game is very dynamic, it’s based a lot on speed. I’m going to try to make the difference in those critical moments in the game. That’s what I like to bring to the teams I join, and I love being able to help the team.
“Being here is extremely important to me; it’s something I’m very proud of. It’s also a pleasure for me to play in this very special league.”
He would make his debut for Atletico in Thursday’s Copa Del Rey clash against Real Betis.
