Clubless Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali is now desperate to get a new employment after abruptly ending his contract with South Africa side Chippa United.
Nwabali hinted during an interview that he is waiting for offers from South Africa and elsewhere where he can ply his trade even as he has been linked with a move to Morocco’s Raja Casablanca, Queens Park Rangers and Saudi Arabian side Al-Ettifaq.
But Nwabali who had a good outing at the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco with the Super Eagles said nothing concrete has come his way.
“There are no calls yet. The only calls are from my family and friends and people who are shocked at the news.
“I can play anywhere I want to play, there is no restriction,” Nwabali said on Sports Nights Amplified with Andile Ncube. “I am open to any club, local or international.”
Meanwhile his former coach at Chipppa United said he was not happy Nwabali left the way he did.
“It is a blow [losing Nwabali] for us, looking at how Stanley did in Morocco. He’s a super keeper, but obviously with his decisions I’m not involved in that,” Vusumuzi Vilakazi told FarPost.
“So it was a discussion between him and the chairman, and they’ve agreed. I will only work with people who are in the system. If there is a need for us to look for a goalkeeper so that the competition can be high, we’ll do so.”
