Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola has been speaking about Saturday’s game with Liverpool and admits the Reds have some top players.
Liverpool and City has been the big fixture in the calendar for some years now. Both teams have pushed each other all the way for Premier League titles, with City mainly coming out on top.
The game is a big chance for Liverpool to put down a marker and show City they are back in business.
And speaking to the press today, City boss Guardiola admitted that the duo of Darwin Nunez and Mo Salah can cause his side a problem.
Speaking to the press, Guardiola was full of praise for Klopp’s Liverpool and admitted that Salah and Nunez can be an issue.
“He makes me a better manager through his teams. The transitions, the space they make in behind, [Darwin] Nunez, [Mohamed] Salah. They have a fantastic team, no doubt,” Guardiola said.
Both Salah and Nunez have been in fine form for Liverpool all season.
In particular, Nunez is coming back off some fine performances with Uruguay and will be desperate to show he is the man for the big occasion.
Salah, as we know, remains a consistent threat. The winger is back to his best and like Liverpool, is impressing on a weekly basis.
For Guardiola, it’s a case of trying to deal with threats from the Reds in the best way he can. His own side have plenty going for them, so in terms of putting Liverpool on the back foot, there’s a lot for him to work with.
It’s clear there is a respect there between Pep and Liverpool now. But come kick-off tomorrow, it will just be about one thing. Winning at all costs.
