Paul Pogba’s lawyers have asked for more time to prepare for his dope hearing at the Italian anti-doping tribunal.
Pogba was scheduled to appear on January 18, 2024, but it has now been postponed till February according to report by Tuttosport, Gazzetta and Corriere dello Sport.
The Turin-based paper claims a request from the player’s lawyers to postpone the hearing has been accepted, so they’ll have more time to prepare their defensive strategy.
The FIGC Prosecutor has requested a four-year ban for the ex-Manchester United midfielder who failed a doping test in August 2023 after a Serie A game between Juventus and Udinese, which he had entirely spent on the bench. DHEA, which can raise levels of testosterone, was found in Pogba’s body.
The French midfielder has been provisionally suspended by the anti-doping tribunal and is not training with the rest of the team.
Pogba returned to Juventus on a free transfer from Manchester United in 2022 but has only made eight appearances with the Old Lady since.
