Nigeria’s first lady, Oluremi Tinubu said it is wrong for Nigerian parents to bombard their kids with tales of suffering as it was polluting their minds.
Despite glaring hardships Nigerians are going through due to rising cost of living and stagnant wages, Mrs. Tinubu argued that Nigeria is wealthy country and people should hope for better times.
“Whoever we are, we should stop talking about poverty in front of our children,” Mrs.Tinubu said during her Christmas message in Abuja.
“We are not a poor nation; the wealthy ones should also take care of the poor ones and make them wealthy; that is all it takes.
“We have taken the issue of poverty out of context, and it is polluting the hearts of the young ones.
“But we have to give them hope and a positive life. We are entering a glorious year, and those who believe it will be glorious will enjoy it.”
