As Nigerians continue to groan under the weight of runaway inflation, Seyi Tinubu has asked his fellow country men and women to bear with his father whose economic policies have become a bitter pill.
President Bola Tinubu has been under intense barrage of criticisms from opposition parties, labour unions and Nigerians burdened by escalating prices of goods and services.
But according to Seyi Tinubu who was writing on his Instagram handle, Nigerians need to endure some more, saying the President’s policies are necessary to get the country back it’s feet.
“There is no joy in seeing the people of this nation shoulder burdens that should have been shed years ago,” said Seyi Tinubu.
“I wish today’s difficulties did not exist. But we must endure if we are to reach the good side of our future.”
From day one of his administration, prices of goods and services continue to shoot up through the roof, following the removal of petroleum subsidy and free-falling of the naira, which is currently approaching N2000 to a dollar.
The Nigeria Labour Congress and Trade Union Congree have called on the government to review the national minimum wage to reflect on the new economic reality, but so far the Bola Tinubu administration is mute on the matter.
Both unions have resolved to go on strike this month if there was no reprieve to the suffering of Nigerians
