Nollywood actor Tochukwu Okafor a.k.a TC Virus, who survived the boat accident on the Anam River, has claimed that boat driver was reckless and inattentive, hence it crashed.
TC Virus who was speaking in an online video stated that the driver was more interested in appearing in the video late Pope Odonwodo was shooting during the journey from their film location, when he crashed into the tail end of another boat on the river.
“The boat operator was wearing an ear piece and listening to music and was also more interested in the video Junior Pope was shooting.
“As we were going, I saw a fishing boat right in front of us and said look out, but the boat operator’s lack of experience made it impossible to avoid a collision, he rammed into the tail end of the fishing boat and the boat we were in summersaulted.
“I survived by holding on to a rope,” said TC Virus.
Meanwhile, he has alleged that film director Adanma Luke, made an attempt to arrest him after the incident.
“Adanma Luke asked the Marine police to arrest me because the boat operator was lying that I stood up during the trip so he could not see the oncoming boat.
“As slim as I am, I stood in front of the boat and you can’t see, are you okay? You who’s a pilot.”
Junior Pope and three others whose bodies are still missing lost their lives in the accident that happened on Wednesday. Only two of the eight passengers on the boat were wearing life jackets.
