Long jumper Prestina Oluchi Ochonogor returns to the same arena where picked an African Games bronze in March to compete and she is hoping to have a big jump that would launch her into the world bracket.
During the African Games in Accra, Ghana where she made her international debut Oshonogor leapt 6.67m personal best for the bronze, she was edged by Burkina Faso ‘s Jasmine Koala Marte 6.81m and Ese Brume with 6.92m.
But it looks Ochonogor will have a field day at the CAA region two, where she competes on Wednesday. Brume and Marte are not in the contest.
“I’m here to do my thing, I don’t know about who is here or who is not.
“I usually don’t bother about names, but compete with the zeal to win always,” said the former junior athlete.
Oshonogor is one athlete athletics officials are hoping to step up into the big time. With her built and reach, she can reach world status and dominate for a long time.
