Popular music artist and producer, Commissioner DJ Wysei said entertainers can do well without drugs and she has called on her colleagues in the trade to help kickout substance abuse.
The petite queen and music diva with a large following on social media was speaking on the sideline of the Chioma Ajunwa Foundation Conference against Illicit Drug Abuse and Cultism held at the Police College in Ikeja, Lagos recently.
She noted that substance abuse is rampant in the entertainment world because artists believe that without it they cannot perform.
“But in real sense performers can do without it. Personally I don’t do drugs, it doesn’t work for me,” said Commissioner DJ Wysei.
“As an artist when you know what you are doing, you can actually perform well without drugs, I am against drug abuse and I am telling my colleagues to do better and influence the younger ones looking up to them. They can actually teach the youths that without drugs they can perform.”
She advised those hooked on drugs to kick the habit and try to be themselves, because it’s much better to perform without drugs.
“It’s all about addiction, but in the real sense drugs never works for anyone in the long run.
“The artists can be themselves and still perform without drugs and so they have to find a way to kick the addiction.
“God gave you this talent so you don’t add it up with drug addiction. So be you, be your natural self and show the world what you can do.”
